ESR BESPOKE

The Narrative
FOUNDATIONS OF THOUGHT
ESR Bespoke Studio began with a singular ambition: to completely redefine the collision repair experience for prestige automotive owners. With over 30 years of heritage, ESR sought to move beyond conventional expectations and reshape its brand identity through design, creating a flagship facility that would speak to performance, precision, and permanence.
Set in a disused tilt-up panel warehouse in Alexandria, the brief called for more than a renovation. It demanded a reimagining of space, service, and stigma within a traditionally utilitarian industry. ESR partnered with H&CO. to bring this new vision to life: a place where architecture becomes brand expression, and every detail supports the expectations of high-value vehicle ownership.
What followed was not just a new premises, but a generational shift, one that fused hospitality, discretion and industrial performance into an environment that sets a new global benchmark.

Crafting
A CHOREOGRAPHY OF TRADES, TEXTURES, AND TIME
From the outset, H&CO. approached ESR Bespoke Studio as a unique opportunity to recast an industrial shell into a highly considered, design-led experience. Working with the constraints of a neglected tilt-up panel warehouse, we saw the site not as a limitation, but as a canvas, one that could be completely reprogrammed to reflect the ambition of the brand and the expectations of its clientele.
Our process began with stripping the building back to its structural essence, identifying where form could be opened, shifted, or softened to support a new kind of narrative-led spatial sequence. Key interventions, including a sculptural awning and oversized portals, were designed to give the building presence and fluidity, bringing motion and scale to what was once a static, utilitarian form.
Internally, the architecture is precise yet expressive. Every space, from front-of-house to workshop, was developed as part of a tightly controlled journey, balancing visibility, discretion, and operational flow. Materials were selected not just for performance, but for meaning: referencing automotive craft, hospitality environments, and the understated elegance of European coachbuilt interiors. A warm, tactile palette was introduced to challenge expectations of the category, pairing technical rigour with emotional resonance.
Crucially, this level of outcome required close orchestration. H&CO. led a deeply collaborative delivery model, engaging directly with trades, fabricators, and builders to prototype key junctions and resolve bespoke detailing in real time. With no precedent to reference, we curated a team capable of delivering with precision, ensuring every moment aligned with the brand, the brief, and the elevated standard ESR demanded.
What emerged was a new kind of industrial architecture, designed not just for workflow, but for identity.
Not just for cars, but for people.
Completed
THE STORY, REALISED
Today, ESR Bespoke Studio stands as a landmark for both brand and industry. From the street, it commands presence, a sculptural volume with light, scale and motion embedded in its form. Inside, it offers clients a sense of calm and confidence: an experience rarely, if ever, associated with automotive repair.
Commercially, the impact has been immediate. ESR has attracted increased repair volume, elevated OEM recognition, and established itself as a trusted partner for the world’s most valuable vehicle marques. More importantly, it has redefined customer perception, turning a process once linked to stress into one of ease and excellence.
The project also sets a precedent well beyond its site: showing that industrial architecture can be emotionally resonant, materially rich, and environmentally responsible. With its emphasis on craftsmanship, sustainability and experiential design, ESR Bespoke Studio is not just a space, it’s a signal to the future of an entire category.
